Default Zip Engine Gasket Set

Does anyone have any experience/opinions on the Zip Engine Gasket Set?

http://www.zip-corvette.com/ProductD...L2-SR&CTitle=&

This is for my '69 L46. I am most concerned with the head gasket. JT, the tech at Zip, claims the gasket thickness is 0.057" uncompressed, and he is unsure of compressed thickness. Unresponsive as to the brands of the gaskets. From past experience, the cork valve cover gaskets from Zip were Felpro.

Price is not bad, but if you had the head gasket part number from Fel-Pro you could get the specs on that exact gasket and not have any question on the compressed thickness.

Looks like ZIP is out of stock, but you can get the same basic gasket set from your local auto parts store or Rock Auto for about half that price. It's the standard Fel-Pro KS2600 kit or, if you want the PermaTorque kit, it's FS7733PT-2.

Thanks Ed. I'm curious, how do you know it is the FelPro kit?

I'm not 100 percent positive, but close. For instance, the picture in the ZIP ad shows the same component colors as the Fel-Pro picture (ie, the blue intake gaskets, the blue water pump gasket, the blue head gaskets, etc..., but mostly it's because Fel-Pro is (I believe) the only company still making gasket kits! I know Sealed Power also has kits, but I think they get them from Fel-Pro. There are also a few companies like Mr Gasket that offer kits, but again, I believe that most, if not all of the gaskets in their kits originate from Fel-Pro.
