I have a 73 that the wiper motor runs good, But the pump will not prime , I have replaced the o rings, and the front of the pump, But it still does not draw water, I can feel the air from the wiper ports, but it does not seem to draw, Did the Willcox motor test, checked OK.( thank You, Mr. Willcox) Great info. But I need help with the pump? Thank you 36 chevy.
I have never used mine on my '69. Don't know if it works, or not. Not sure I would turn it on on a dirty windshield. No disrespect intended, that is just me.
Yes I have checked the feeder hose and container, no obstructions .
I don't know if I'd ever us it, Can't say if the wipers ever been used in the past 25 yrs.
Just fixen all the little things , Just my type A coming out,
Thanks again, 36 chevy
when you say the front of the pump was replaced, you are referring to the piece with the small round oneway valves? Have you tried a small container with water and insert a short piece of hose from the pump intake to the container?
Yes Sir, I have the unit out of the car, I have it set up to run from a different container of water, Yes I replace the front with a rebuild kit o rings and new front plates, It will pop air out just does not draw in? Thanks again
Try disassembling the front again, use vasoline or wheel bearing grease and put some on the o-rings and in the piston bore, see if that makes a difference.
OK , I tried the old face plate with new o rings, and now getting some water, might be the way the rubber check value is in the new plate?
Well thanks again, Back to fixen something I might not use, But sometimes it is the chase, AND there sure are a lot of moving parts in these Great cars, amazing it works at all.
