I just purchased a 1972 Conv. and I initially checked the wiper switch and the door opened but no wiper action. The seller had the car for 2 years and never even tried the wipers. I found the wiper blade linkage was disconnected and when the switch is on the motor does not run. I am guessing that the motor is bad or a wire may be disconnected or a fuse may be blown. Any other suggestions.

Check the round **** below the steering column.
It rotates left/right a quarter turn.
It overrides the wiper circuit so you can turn them off in mid sweep to change the blades. If it's turned off the wipers won't operate.
If not that, then next verify that the wiper door is all the way open. There is an interlock switch on same circuit as described above that prevents the wipers from working until the door is open. You'll see the large switch beneath a plunger just to the passenger side of the center of the firewall right at the top/lip.
I'm sure someone faster than me will post you a photo of both.
Hi stw62,
And one of the wiper motor 'stop' switch, with the wiper door vacuum over-ride on it's right, and the headlight door vacuum over-ride on it's left.
Good Luck!

Alan
I played with all of the suggestions today and found that with the linkage off I tried the big **** to see if the motor would work, but no luck, so I opened the hood investigaing what I needed to do to remove the motor and saw a blade connection with no wire so I felt around looking for the wire which had falling down under the motro. I reconnected the wire and the motor worke, now all I needed to do was reconnect the linkage and all fixed. Thanks for all of the input from the forum. This is what the Corvette owners so strong. Happy Thanksgiving.
