Hi guys,
I am trying to find a good power source for my new HEI ignition that I added to my 1970 vette. I'm sure others have done this and was hoping for some good suggestions as to where to pick up power.
Thanks,
Rob
If you really want to go all out, Lectric Limited has an HEI wire with the connector to the HEI on one end and the spade for the fuse box on the other.
I already have two other items on that terminal. The stereo and I believe the alarm. Do I need to find other locations for them or can I piggy back that on there also?

Stereo and other accessories are best on the acc terminal because they are not active when the key is turned to start. This saves battery power for getting the engine started. While starting, ign is powered, acc is not, when the key is on, both are powered.

Like they said--DON'T add any other devices to the same connection that supplies 12V to the HEI AND don't use the original coil resistor wire because it keeps the HEI from putting out max spark.
If I can't find a "loose" wire in the engine bay from years of electrical devices being "done away with"......I'm going to use the other members advice of adding a white "12V with the key on" spade wire from the fuse-box thru the firewall to the distributor.
Also.......the other member's idea of using the original supply resistor wire to trigger a new relay would work....a little more work involved, but a good idea!
