Anyone have experience installing and running these in a 1970-74 BB with A/C? Any fit or heat issues? Are they truly a direct fit to existing exhaust withOUT modification? Thanks!
70 - 74 Corvette Big Block 2" Factory Cast Iron Replacements
After some research I decided to bite the bullet and buy the McJacks at Vette Central given the "free" shipping promo running. They assured me it was a "direct fit" replacement for the stock manifold. I have the original manifolds and wanted to keep the exhaust "stock" configuration unmolested. I will post how it turns out. Just wanted assurances from someone that actually installed these before I committed.
I can't see that there would be enough of a benefit to replace a 2" outlet manifold with a 2" outlet shorty header, especially for what they cost. You can get a long tube header set and the section of exhaust pipe that connects through the crossmember to your stock pipes from Hooker (at least you can for a small block). I have a set like that on my 77.
