Fixing the destroyed underside of the front crossmember. Made sure it would be possible to use a hydraulic jack in this position for future lifts of the finished car.
Well, I think that is the main reinforcements I have done to my frame for my 1969 427 coupe.
Basically it is in line with the Chevy Performance Book on Corvettes with a few exceptions.
Thanks for the photos Swede. I like the boxing on the kick up bracing and the motor mounts. I was planning on putting heavier plate steel on the bottom of the front cross member. Mine like everyone else's is dented front floor jacks. I think welding the heavier plate to the bottom A arm mounts along with the gussets has got to stop the tearing away of the bottom mounting I have seen so much of on these cars.
I also want to brace up the differential frame mount as 72vette did. I am going to remove the rubber mounts to move to diff up with welded in round plates in the mount and bolt it up all solid as per an old 70's Gulstrand article I read.
