hard to say since you didnt provide links to the product. The shop manual below is only $33 but covers years 66 to 82. The second link appears to be the original GM guide for 73 only and is $50.
There is the "Chassis Service Manual" and also the "Chassis Overhaul Manual". I'm not familiar with a "Shop Manual" published by Chevrolet. If it is a Haynes or Chilton, don't bother.
The 'Overhaul' manual details the complete rebuild of the primary mechanical items in your car: engine, transmission, starter, differential, alternator, power steering components, etc. If you will be rebuilding any of those items (better and less expensive than replacing them with aftermarket stuff), it is a MUST HAVE manual.

Could you provide a link to a "Chassis Overhaul Manual"? Thanks.
Not sure if they are in reprint, or not. You can find them on eBay and Amazon every now and then. I have a '71 car, but found a used '70 Chassis Overhaul Manual. Everything is applicable for the '70/71/72 cars.

2025 c3 ('74-'82) of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
2019 C3 of Year Finalist (appearance mods)
The service manual seems to have all the answers I've had to look up.
Don't use the 66-82 shop manual.
About the $100.00 book...
I think you might be right, could just be an over priced service manual. Be nice to look through it and see if it contains more than the service manual.
(I hope that fugly link works).
It is year specific, but maybe just an overpriced copy of the service manual?
Helms is the original publisher of all GM print manuals. If you google the part ST32973 you will discover it is the same as what Ecklers has as a loose leave reprint and which you already own.
I have the 2 manuals that MelWff posted (#2) along with the AIM for my 73. I believe they stopped making the Chassis Service Manual after 71 or 72 or just dropped the Chassis name.

I would not mess with that "Shop Manual". It might be for ALL Chevrolet vehicles for 1973. What you need should be specific for cars/Corvettes.
I suggest that you stay with the 1973 Chassis Service Manual and continue to look for a 1970/71/72/73 (any of them will do) Chassis Overhaul Manual.
Thanks for the pointer - just bought a '73 COM on ebay for $28 after shipping.
I'm keeping this car forever, so I'm sure I'll get $28 worth of usage out of it.
