How do you figure that? Because I find the lights on all newer cars are uncomfortably bright for me, even on low beam.
A projector is supposed to be aimed flat. ie: if the center of the headlight is 25" from the ground, 30ft down the road the beam should still be 25" from the ground.
This is on flat ground so going over a crest the beam will obviously be aimed higher. If a cars headlight is ~35" from the ground (suv) and you are in a low car, you will likely be close to the 35" beam. Some cars Ive seen spec the headlight aim to be 1* down, but they will still end up in your vision if they are close enough and you are low enough.
My headlights are 22.5" from the ground. On flat ground I can assure you my beam will not be in your vision or in your mirrors. (unless you drive a seriously low car )
I have old SEV Marchal lenses with the Kitty Cats on the high beam locations!
H4's with high Watt bulbs aka LeMans 24 hours. I de-pinned the connectors and repinned with larger gauge wiring and relays etc.. Been so long ago, I forgot what I did. For the sake of not getting a ticket, I don't run with those fired unless Canyon racing and I have them pointed slightly out to light the Canyon walls! They are dangerous to on coming traffic because they will completely blind the driver. I thought of changing the set up slightly to more modern-- and put them on a switch to disengage/engage for specific usage!!! Also when coming up from behind, they the cars in front think they are in the remake of ET the movie!!! Or they think God is coming to get them, when I light those things up from behind them! But it is funny how a fast car can out pace normal driving lights. Your velocity exceeds the capability to light the road enough ahead to see! Maybe someone that can do Algebra can calculate that based on speed for us! But maybe it's that Trigenomerity stuff!!!! Thus stock lights incapable at what speed??????????
Your build and engineering was a cool read! Thank you, because I am not up on these new HID's and projector this and that! So thank you!
