Has anyone fitted this model BD-1957 onto their SB vette? Does anyone know if they are dimensionally the same as the 1850 Holley?
Lastly, if anyone fitted oe how did the engine perform afterwards?
As always, any advice appreciated
It is a 600CFM carburetor and without knowing the size of the engine and if there are any modifications it will be hard to advise you. It looks like a copy of the 1850, same type of bowls, same fuel tube, vacuum secondary, etc.
Seems like I have a fairly standard early 70's 350 engine, the only things I do know are that the pistons are flat tops, the exhaust manifolds were replaced with Hedman block huggers, inlet manifold is Performer EPS. and the heads have the big valves plus a reputation as "crackers".
I love my QuickFuel. If you have the money, I'd suggest an annular booster carb. Better bottom end through better atomization.
The one you're looking at is in the $375 range. You can get a top-drawer double pump annular booster 650 QuickFuel for $550.
One little "blip" I've run into on my rebuild is that the QuickFuel doesn't have the cut-out in the front for the air cleaner tabs in the base. At least my LT-1 drop-base. So I need to purchase a new base to fit the carb. Little issue, but something I thought I'd make you aware of.
Hi, yes the QuickFuel seems to be a good option, I looked at double pumper carbs but was advised that vacuum secondary is easier to set up and more suitable for auto trans ( I have a c200r4 on order due here at the end of the week).
