Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

#1 cylinder is the front cyl on the drivers side. So 1-3-5-7 on driver side, 2-4-6-8 on passenger side.

Be aware that the location of the #1 plug wire in the distributor cap may be 'standard' or may have been re-clocked by a previous owner. Sometimes the wires need to be shifted one position in order to get the vacuum advance can positioned in a 'comfortable' place. If you are uncertain about that, you can crank the engine over to TDC (compression stroke) and pull the distributor cap off. The rotor will be positioned at the #1 cap terminal.
