Default Eckler Front End (HELP)

Hi Guys,

Anyone happen to know if this front clip is from Ecklers. It seems like a 73-74.

Previous owner had it on my 70. I believe it was made to be full tilt but they installed it so it lifts towards the windshield....

It's going be hard to tell.. there have been so many different aftermarket company's come and go over the years that knowing for sure might be impossible.

I think Ecklers used to put a logo under the fiberglass you might look for something there.

Thanks Wilcox - the quality and strength is definitely good, I compared it to the OE. No stamps or marks unfortunately showing any info.

I have an original front surround that I'm planning on completing soon. This one will be up for sale if anyone is interested.

odd...I do not recall ecklers making a 73-79 style with molded in hood yet had headlight holes unless for recessed lights and not with the front bumper cap, ecklers was truely one piece...

It had recessed lights that were removed.

I found an older ecklers mag. with the closest hood being "Monza Front End" but like you mentioned bat, it still has a divide between the front.

Could this be a 73-79 original setup with the turbo hood glassed in?

It has bumperettes which 73-74 did not have. The hood grille looks like a 68-75 convertible rear deck vent. My WAG is 75-79 model year range.

Ecklers tilts never had the bumper cap or bumperettes,
The Ecklers monza front end was a slightly modded 73-79 style front end,
I would bet a Coke that yours is a person modded stock clip someone glassed the hood into, I might do that to make a stock 69 front clip tilt

I think your right bats, Collect your coke next time your in Canada haha.

Lots of "custom" work on this car. The rear compartment doors were plywood cutouts. No reverse switch, the wiring for it - powering my tach gauge. Rear compartment lights d/c powering aftermarket amplifiers.

Any ideas what this complete setup would sell for? I'm going to put it on sale once I get the parts to go back to original.

Thanks

Sadly, the way it's modded shinks the people who would want it, people want tilt front clips and so they made it flip backwards, that can be changed,
I see tilt clips ( and stock 73-82 ) sell or rather ask 200.00 and up I have my modded 73-79 front clip and even offered it for free and didn't get a bite so I made plans for it, but on yours I would ask 200-400, more if you still have the recessed light set up....

Wiring fun,
I swapped a PT Looser for a vw trike, the trike had issues but so did the PT and I wanted the trike and the pt gone,
We limped home on it from up by the state lines, it had lots of issues, it was night and I swear I kept seeing a strobe like flashing over my left shoulder, my wife said it was the tail light, okay, no biggie.
When I got it home and started re-wiring it I learned they had the coil power feed wire twisted to the power wire to one tail light, so like a timing gun it would flash when conditions were just right....

That's one way of making a DIY "Bubba" timing light ahaha.

I will be in touch when I'm going back to stock. I'm not sure I have all the components to actually mount the hardware on the original surround I have.

I like the idea of a lift front clip, it sure would be unique. I would also add fixed head lights in it also.

Some custom C3s I don't care for but that one to me is a keeper.

That is my $.02
