I just checked the gas pedal assembly and noticed that the plastic bracket that holds the gas pedal is broken and the pedal is somewhat lose... This might have been the problem... will see.
Exhaust cannot be the problem too: 1 3/4 inch primaries and 4 inch collector - open (exept for 2 disc CCI Inserts)
Are 2 disc CCI inserts supposed to flow good? Sounds restrictive. That could cut your upper rpm power level a good bit if it is. I dunno, just a thought...........

The CCI inserts are the best flowing mufflers on the market... However - they practically don't reduce the noise at all...
You might want to try a Performer RPM intake. Your combo just needs some fine tuning. :)
Performer RPM has a lower RPM range than my current intake. The ported Tarantula (TM-1) should produce more top end HP than the RPM... Furthermore - I prefer a single plane intake in combination with my manual transmission. I'm pretty sure that I was only running 75% throttle at the dyno run because of my broken gas pedal assembly. I don't even know where I can get the part that broke.. It's some kind of plastic bracket that ties down the assembly with 2 bolts...
Olivier...I know you're disappointed about your HP figures so far, and I know you'll sort it out for the better soon enough, but I wouldn't worry too much about the figures themselves. It's the seat of the pants feeling that should be the criterea for whether you're happy with the motor or not. Not so much that the dyno doesn't read high enough.
Good luck anyhow.
I don't know all the technical stuff but I'm sure there's a reason the numbers didn't come to what you hoped for. I saw first hand how nice it runs, so track down the cause and run it again, I'm betting it will do much better.

The engine runs excellent and feels very strong.. I'm pretty sure that the bad performance had to do with my broken gas pedal... However - I don't know how to fix it. I checked the Ecklers catalog and they don't have the bracket that's broken.... I have no idea where to get it... I will post a pic of the broken bracket later...

The problem must have something to do with my gas pedal assembly.
Here is a pic of the bracket that is broken.
Here is just an observation Olivier and this might apply to others:
I remember your post on your first burn with the new engine and you were happy as heck with the engine at that point. But after your dyno you where disappointed, maybe not so much with the engine but with the number. It is funny how seeing a number on a piece of paper can change how you feel about your engine. This is no flame intended to anyone just an observation on people's perception and how it can change without anything else changing except seeing something on a piece of paper.
Now about your bracket, can you tell if that is causing you to not be able to open you throttle plates all the way? Hope that is the problem and a little welding can fix it.

Well - it's a plastic bracket and it has to be replaced.... Maybe it is part of the pedal assembly but I'm not sure...
I just checked... At the fully depressed gas pedal - I'm only able to open up the throttle approx. 70%
Think you found your problem! But now you get to figure out how to fix it. Isn't that supposed to half the fun, fixing it?
I wonder if this bracket is the only reason why I'm not getting full throttle... It' might be possible to adjust the whole pedal assembly. I just have to find out how.... The only thing I know for sure is that the problem is located at the pedal assembly.... I hope that I will be able to fix the problem soon... and then have the car dyno tested again...
