Hello,
I have a problem with my Delco radio Product No. 7302721 ,
Service Model No. 01VFP1
Using the AM option everything is o.k. But changing to FM there is only a "rush" . No station to receive.
The selector switch (AM/FM) seems to be o.k. I cleaned the contacts of it.
Is there a switch (poti) or something else to adjust FM in any way ?
Anyone out here to help me with troubleshooting this problem ?
BTW : I have no chance to send my radio to an US vendor because I´m living in Germany !
Contack Jerry Rudbeck at ELECTRODESIGN. He may be able to help you. He's very well though of in the Corvette commuity when it comes to these old radios and is willing to help through emails.
Most likely a problem with the demodulator for FM and it needs replacement of a defective component. Jerry (the radio guy) is a good choice for the repair.
If you have someone repair your radio, make sure you have them replace all of the 'wet' capacitors in it. They dry out and many are likely way off their rated value. Since the repair person will be into it anyway, the capacitor swap should be a modest added expense.
Uli, Jerry's on vacation until the first of the year, so he may not reply before that. Don't fret, he'll get back to you when he gets back and starts in on his emails again, but it may take a few weeks.
I was in email contact with Jerry.
He gave me some very good tips what to do with trobleshooting my radio problem.
There may be one or two "bad" transistors causing the problem.
I have to check it now.
Happy New Year to everyone.
