That brings up a good point. With any dream engine a bunch of drive train, suspension, brakes, and wheel/tire mods will be required. 500hp with 7'' wide bias ply tires is probably not a good idea!
For my dream engine, I still want to run a stick, which limits tq to 700lbs or a $5k transmission and a $4k rear diff upgrade. I want hp but dont want tq, and want to make the hp high in the rev range where it will not often be used. I cant get that with a crate motor. It is hard to justify building a destroked BBC and leaving so much power on the table.
Im going to do a 4.6" bore and 3.76" or 4" stroke BBC. Im moving the rev range up to 7500rpm from a crate 6300rpm. That move alone is costing about $1.5k for better parts and has the builder applying a 100hp swag on the engine's output. "Common sense be damned, full speed ahead", lol.

First the Corvette is the limiting factor, so I would have to build an engine that wouldn't be ridiculous in a C3. Knowing the Toms Differential parts, the Tex Racing Tranny's, or some of the others, welding/gusseting the frame with full rollcage (chromoly), all kinds of high end suspension goodies like multi link rears with retracting halfshafts etc. Coilover fronts thru the A-arms etc..
Thus first a GM tall deck SB aluminum block
Long rods definitely-- 6.2 Carrillo's
4.125 Bore w/Custom Ross Pistons
Solid lifter roller- But one with heavier duration to lift ratio
Crower shaft mount SS Rockers
Heads- probably the ultimate Track Brodix units ported to the max
Bryant billet cut Crankshaft 3.48 stroke for high rod to stroke ratio!
Inconel exhaust valves
NOS shots hidden
Soleniod Activated Header dumps
Etc.
But because of reality, I only am going to end up with my current build at about 3/4 of what is listed above!

Did anyone here ever think how easy it is to wreck and die in a 500hp car??

Only 500 hp is for beginners. It is actually how you build the whole package that determines if it is safe. I've owned some fast cars that were down right dangerous to drive. One being my V-8 Vega. On the other end of the spectrum is the exotic sports cars that might even have 1000 hp and can exceed 240 mph on the way to the beer store
Like our recent fast and furious real road race car drivers that were out screwing off in the 600 hp exotic Porsche. Over 100 mph sideways into a light pole and then tree.

Lightening scares me more than any race car.
I've road in a couple v8 Vegas, seemed great for going straight.

With the addition of an Aeromotive phantom in-tank fuel system feeding and edelbrock dual plane manifold with FAST fuel rails, a FAST throttle body and FASTs EZ EFI 2.0 running the whole shebang.
Im now one of my two rich cousins. I pick up the phone and call www.sonnysracingengines.com. Hey I want the 1005cu. 2150 hp natural aspirated BBC or what I really want to talk to you about is the boosted version of it. Ship me two of them one for a spare. I have a jaquar setting around with 56,000 miles on it. I believe the saying never buy one jaguar buy two so you will have one car to drive while the other is in shop.

Very good choice... the only possible option...would be to co-locate the two turbos at the rear to reduce the microwave under the hood...and plumb back to front with front mount intercooler...
oh god..i feel another project starting...
if you delete the spare...and ceramic coat everything... plus add thermal barrier to bottom of area...so turbos dont heat sink into the rear compartment....mandrel bend all...big cube SBC...with about 7.5:1... oh my god.... yeah... I've got to stop before i start ordering stuff...hahahahahah

Im shopping for a 1968 with a 327 right now....was gonna do an LS swap...but this thing is just so cool, I might just send the motor out and have it rebuilt just like this....I bet with fuel injection and a good tune the throttle response would be sweet
Mine dream engine is in my shop.
454 30 over crower crank, Carrillo rods, mahle pistons, afr 315 cnc heads, custom solid roller 700 lift 258 262 @ 50, Jessel shaft rollers, victor jr, aed 1000, should make over 700 hp on pump gas.
