Default Suggestion Needed - Welcomed

I am going to undertake rebuilding these lights from a 1975 and wanted to seek input from my fellow Corvette Forum members before beginning. I have a rebuild kit complete from Bair's (thank you John) for this project but wanted input on what others have done, learned, and would avoid if they were doing this project again.
Appreciate your thoughts.
Best regards,
David Howard

Hi David. Take pictures and notes through out the disassembly process. Keep parts from each headlight separate. When you take anything with adjustments count the thread turns and take notes. Put them back with count of threads. This saves a lot of adjustment when installed back in the car. Spray every thing with something like Liquid Wrench heavily wait a day and take it apart. Clean the parts, prime, paint and re-assemble. Enjoy your project.

Thank you Frank, good advice. Counting the turns on the threads never occurred to me, great point.

Do only one side at a time, so you can compare the two and put it all back together correctly.

with pretty much all of the above.

There are some subtle differences between left and right, high and low beam (watch the "pots") which make them sort of go together but not quite right

Mine from last year, (ignore all NCRS violations)

Hi,
Mooser's post is a beaut', and has/shows the info well.
The headlight pots do need to end up in the right place.
Looking at the front of the car they are:
C B D A
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
