I am replacing my rotted out Hooker side pipes. The metal tabs that mount to the frame to hold the side tubes are currently mounted to the underside of the frame. The new side tube instructions indicate the tabs are to mount to the side of the frame under the rocker mouldings. It looks like you can mount them either way if you want by using the tabs as is (side frame mounted) or by bending the mounting tabs to mount to the bottom of the frame. I have seen both ways of mounting at the car shows. What's the best way to go?????? Also, JCL, should I paint the Spiral baffle inserts before installing the first time. I read in your instructions that you recommend removing them and painting them once a year to make them last longer. What paint do I use? High temp ceramic (1200 deg.), high temp silicone resin (1500 deg.), or cold galvinizing zinc?

Greg. Actually the gold zinc coating that I've switched to is better than the paint. Should not have to do anything to them. The carbon layer will help also.
Be careful not to BEND those tabs to much, but out of the two ways the side is the best for that set up. JCL :yesnod: "Have baffles. Will travel"
