Clutch chatter?

Clutch chatter?
Looking for suggestions:
I had my clutch package replaced which was original to car (1972 base 350 motor.)
The original clutch was starting to slip due to a weakened pressure plate.
The original disc still looked good but still replaced everything .(disc, pressure plate , pilot ,throwout bearing, fork and resurfaced flywheel.)
This has been done twice now and I still get chatter when starting off at a lower rpm and worse in reverse?
My mechanic says that the new clutch disc materials are not as forgiving as the original asbestos disc.
I want to get rid of chatter. this is a street car no performance clutch needed. What clutch set up would cure my problem?

You're getting excuses from your mechanic. There is no reason you should be having clutch chatter. There are plenty of clutches out there that won't give you that problem. Also be careful to break the disk in properly. (No hard acceleration for the first 500 miles)
