Default Seat restore

Been awhile since I broke the seats down, they were in terrible shape and the mice were moving in while sitting in shop. I tore them down and trashed the covers. So I got the frames blasted and painted ready to reassemble, are there any difference between right and left seat, which side of the seat is the adjuster lever supposed to be on, and finally, one seat lever bezel has a plastic insert, one does not, have not seen this part anywhere, any suggestion

Hi 73,
Both seats are the same.
The adjustment lever is on the right side on both seat bottoms.
Someone asked about the plastic insert not to long ago. I THINK Willcox had some... so try a call to them.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

A couple things you may want to attend to while thay are torn down may be, I replaced the nut welded under the base for the adjuster with a threaded sleeve. I cut some thin steel plate for the base and welded it in also, for some rigidity.
I also cut and welded gussets for the threaded sleeves. Also in the base I bent some extra connecters to link the base springs with each other to spread the load. Any of the slots that capture the springs to the frame side that seemed like they could be getting weak, I tacked them to keep the springs from a potential release.
Just a few thoughts "While You're There" deal.

Seat tracks will only install one way.

FWIW: the AIM is handy for seats. It shows track installation, hardware, and a little bit of help on foam and upholstery.

Thanks for the help everyone. Yeah I had completely disassembled so like starting from scratch. My car & AIM is at the body shop with the car. Going through shelves of parts, repairing, & restoring till car is back.

Reinforcing the base is good advice. Corvette vendors (e.g. Willcox) sell the plates.
