Having to constantly bleed my brakes and search for air coming in is getting to be a real hassel. Sick and tired of the troubleshooting. I have been looking into buying calipers with O-ring pistons. Does anyone have these or have any information they could share about them? I know I'm not alone with this problem.
This is true, but would rather worry about replacing brake lines, master cylinder or brake booster, rather than constantly having to change the expensive calipers. Does VB and K offer a good product?
I bought and installed VBP O-ring conversion kits, $30 per caliper, about 9 months ago and so far no problems.
The kits include the o rings, o ring pistons, seals, etc. and was easy enough to do.
If you have minor runout, these should do the trick if your current set up is pulling in air.
Get the VBP O ring pistons and leave out the springs, assemble as usual...
if the rear especially has excessive runout that you can really feel, shim the rotor with a washer behind it....thinner ones on the two adjacent holes...
keep playing, maybe reorient the rotor on the hub... need be within a 32nd or so should be fine...like I said, remove springs with O ring calipers, should be fine...it's the way mine has been for years now daily driver....
