Default Problem with engine

Hi, I write from Poland , I have problem with my engine, my car is the 1981 r , so when i start engine (cold) Rpm is very high, I dont now why.
about 4 min work engine RPM jest lower

someone help me??

Either the choke is sticking closed or just needs adjusting. That is the most obvious thing to check.

Simply lower your fast idle speed by backing off your fast idle speed screw. The '81 is an ECM-controlled carb, but the ECM does not control idle speeds. Set the cold rpm where you want it using the adjustment screw.

What do you consider "very high"? When the choke is closed on a cold start it is normal for the idle speed to be higher.

That is not the original carb for an '81.
Can you post the numbers on the side of it?
