Default Brake switch ?

Ive finished doing an auto to manual gearbox conversion(t56 magnum) to my 78 vette, not sure if the brake switch bracket is in a slightly different position because now mounted too the new brake pedal, cant remember if the brake switch goes into top or bottom hole. top one is very lose, also not enough room to plug wires into end of it, hits steering holding bracket and bottom hole seems to tight, cant get the brake switch through it

so whats my options here??

also using a hydraulic clutch release bearing, does the clutch pedal need a spring on it, there wasn't one in the kit?? using willwood clutch master cylinder

cheers for any help

dave

IF you had a factory clutch pedal set-up...the clutch pedal return spring would have been located out in the engine compartment. So...knowing that you do not have that set.up...you may have to see what happens or install your own spring under the dash somewhere

If your have 2 choices for the brake light switch...use which one works best. If the lower one is too tight...it all depends if the lower position has that clip installed in it to hold the brake light switch may be damaged...or your brake light switch (if new) is not correct in diameter..

Hard for me to reply any further due to not having any photo's to see.

One of those holes is for the brake light switch. The other is for the cruise control release switch. I don't remember which is which. There is a clip that inserts in the hole and the brake light switch presses into the clip. Hope this helps. Its all I've got.

i think the cruise control release switch was in the bottom hole, the top doesnt have enough room behind like said, will try get it to work in bottom hole, its alittle bit of a pig, cos the pedal box is all back installed in car!

the clutch seems to happly return back up to its full travel, so iam helping it doesnt need a spring

cheers guys
