Default Clutch Slip

I bought my '69 a few months ago and have been working to get it roadworthy (hasn't been driven in a decade). I finally took it for a test drive and I can't move past a slow idle speed in fwd or rev. After a few minutes of putting around I smell a slight burning (I am assuming a burning clutch). I know the previous owner rebuilt the engine and transmission. My only thoughts are 1. little/no friction material 2. faulty clutch spring (not enough friction force). I would rather not drop the xmsn and rebuild the clutch, but I can't think of any other options. Any ideas would be really appreciated!

Thanks

I sounds like a Centerforce Dual Friction is in your future.

Once a clutch starts slipping, you can't do anything but replace it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
