I will be be replacing (or at least re-packing) my front wheel bearings next week. Is it a bad job. Everyone I have talked to says it is no sweat. What do you guys think.

Easy... I've replaced all 4 on the front. 2 on each side with one seal.
Replacing/repacking is easy. Just make sure you adjust the bearings correctly after you are done. Loose bearings can lead to air pumping into the brake system.
When I did mine, I didn't have the tool to hold the pistons on the calipers in the retracted position. It was a trick getting the calipers back on. I have since bought the tool.
Setting the bearings can be the hardest part. To do it properly they call for an inch pound torque wrench. Also if the castle nut doesn't line up with the cotter pin they also call for shims. The old way was to just slowly tighten it then back it off to the first place that lines up with the cotter pin but this can cause rotor run out and brake pumping. You are allowed up to .005 runout total so if your rotor is already marginal loose bearings can put you over the limit.
An article on the Big Block from hell really goes into this.
