oil leak
me and my brother just rebuild my 1971 454, and ther is oil leaking from behind the oil pan. We used mobil one oil from the get go, only the best, and my brother put a cup of minrel oil to break in the cam. He has done a bunch of motors this way, and says it is better than zinc. I don't know about this, could this be making it leak?

Slimmest of chances it has anything to do with your choice of fluid at all.
Much more likely you have a gasket that is not seated properly. Could be coming from anywhere above the point where you can actually see the leak. Could be valve covers, rear of intake, oil pan, rear main, etc.
