Starter issues

The starter on my 454 just gave up, I'm looking for a new and improved one. I keep seeing all this "mini" stuff and to be honest I'm just not sure what to look at/for. The engine is not anything crazy but I do have plans to rebuild. I would really appreciate any suggestions on what starters to look at. Brand, torque, mini, standard, etc.

if you want to buy local, Orielly auto, 98 chevrolet truck w/454. starter, light weight, gear reduction starter, about $120, first suggestion...............

I have a '69 427/390. I bought a new, not rebuilt, unit fron Autozone over 27k miles ago, and it works very well for me. Hot or cold, works well. About $75 now. Lifetime warrantee.
I have found that oem type parts are sometimes more desirable than aftermarket parts.

Thanks guys, I like the thought of being able to just go pick one up. Now to just get the header out of the way to drop the old one......Saturday morning project go.
