Default Rad / Support questions. '79 Corvette

I have a couple questions regarding the my installation of my Rad and Support I plan on putting in so we can try to fire up the engine on my project car in the next week or so. My original support from the '79 was totally rusted out so I found a perfect one out of a '81 that I'm using. The one difference I see is there are two slots on the bottom where the fan shroud sits on, and on the one from the '79 there are two holes. There appears to be two markings on the shroud that indicate there where two metal tabs that the shroud sat into on the support, I see no place for tabs on the replacement support bottom. (see picture 1)

Also, there were two rubber grommets screwed onto the front of the old support, on the bottom corners. I have screwed them into the same holes on the replacement support but have no idea what they are for. I don't see them in any catalog. What are they for? (see picture 2)

Finally, Do all the seals have to go on the support before I install the rad or can I put them on when I'm ready to put the body back on?

Thanks

Use an 81 shroud. These had the auxilary fan same as 79 L-82s. The grommets in question are probably for the AC condensor brackets. Should also be two at the top. Factory air was standard on the 81s; optional for 79.

Install your seals before the rad.

The lower bolts in the front are for the A/C condenser.

Thanks for the information guys. What is odd now is that it appears I had a rad support and have a shroud from a '78. Did early '79's like mine borrow from the '78's?

There are two clips that slide over the radiator support and the tabs on the shroud slide into them.corvette central has the clips. The grommets on the front are for the Ac condensor brackets.
