Default Stock 78 exhaust assembly

Hello, I am new here so I will try and give my best description of what I need. I recently purchased a 78 L-82 with a blown motor and everything in pieces and boxes. Well I am ready to reassemble and I am bewildered. The engine is back in but I'm not sure how the exhaust goes together. So I need to know the assembly of each side. Passanger side I have the heat riser, but is there a gasket to the pipe and or manifold. I was told there should be a metal doughnut. Drivers side, I'm not sure? I have a 2" piece of flanged pipe with a steel doughnut on it but not sure which side it goes on. I do have an assembly manual but it doesn't give any detail on this assembly. I have been on numerous sites trying to get a picture or whatever. So please help this new corvette enthusiast.

Look at page 392 or 8C sheet 2. The assembly schematic shows the stacking for the various components...each side. I would not call it a metal doughnut...its a metal sleeve with an abestos type donut around it (item #4). The AIM calls it a ring R.H. (right hand).

I am thinking the 2" is the extension or #5 on the schematic but its only a collar.

Go back to the AIM and compare your parts to the diagram...tell us if this syncs up.

Omg I feel like such a moron, I looked through that book 50 times at least and just couldn't believe it wasn't there. Thank you very much for teaching me to slow down and do more thorough research. Much appreciated. 👍😄
