Default 73 Cowl induction wiring

I would like to make the cowl induction work. I Need to know from the gas peddle where the wires should go. I have the harness down the hood and connected by the head lights, I have a single brown wire with a connector coming from the firewall right beside the wiper motor not hooked to anything?. Any Help much needed.

There should be an electrical switch that the gas pedal operates. Look for that switch, and then follow that wiring. On other years, that switch is the TH400 kickdown switch, so if your car has a TH400, that switch might do double duty.

Thanks, I have found and connected the switch, will need some adjustment, doesn't activate unless switch is bottomed out, peddle does not move that far, Now the single brown wire by the wiper motor, Does , or did it attach to part of the carburetor that is now missing? wiring diagram that I have shows it to a idle stop sol. Once again thanks for the Help.

Default switch

when you remove the switch on the gas pedal, you can reset it by pushing in a small tab on the switch which lets it open all the way,and then re install it(without pushing it) now when you press the gas pedal all the way to the floor it will set it self.the induction flap opens when you depress the gas pedal to the floor.

The single brown (tan) wire coming out by the wiper motor goes to the idle stop solenoid as shown below. It is looped out of the picture and attaches via the black connector at the end of the solenoid:

1936 chevy,
Is your Corvette an auto or manual transmission???

If it is an automatic...this kick down switch is doing 2 jobs when depressed...it "kicks-down" the transmission and also activates the flapper in the hood.

I have found in testing many Corvettes that have floor mats and what-have you. This I can apply a small section of 3/8" fuel hose to the shaft on this switch at the accelerator pedal to activate it a bit sooner. Like I wrote...I TEST it ...and many times that alone does the trick.

Thanks Again, have a manual trans, and I'm Missing the idle stop solenoid. So the flap, opens when the gas peddle is fully depressed, Ok, Thanks so much for all this info, It has made this so much simpler to understand.

YES...but putting a hose on the shaft of the switch by the accelerator pedal will make it open before full throttle...if you choose to do so.
