Question please:

I got some new 350 auto dual exhaust pipes (Corvette Central) from a friend and I want to put them on a 76 4sp to convert to dual exhaust.

Does the removable cross member on the auto have the same 2 exhaust holes dimensions as the 4sp welded in cross member?

Are the front pipes different for the auto and 4sp? I assume the auto front pipes may split wider to accommodate the larger auto transmission.

So the question is: will a 350 auto dual exhaust fit on a 350 4sp dual exhaust without modification???

Thanks!

I just installed their system on my 75...but I have an auto. The distance between the holes , from center to center, on my cross member is about 11.5 inches.

Crossmember holes are the same.
The auto pipes, I think pass side, I believe enter the crossmember hole at a slight angle, making both the front and rear pipes slightly different from the manual pipes that go through straight. You won't be able to connect a manual front pipe with an auto rear pipe. Or vise-verse.

Few years ago I installed a manual setup I removed from one of my Vettes onto a friends auto Vette. Had to ding a few spots to clear the turbo 350. No way they would have worked with the 400 trans.

In your case, with the small size of the manual trans, I would think the auto pipes would fit OK.

I'm assuming a COMPLETE auto set is what you're getting.

Not a biggie but with the slightly angled pipe you may need to modify the trans crossmember pipe hanger that installs at the trans mount.
If you're using a "correct" factory style hanger.

ok and good to know
Well I think I got 4sp fronts and auto intermediates, ha, since the pipes are free, I can not complain, LOL's!

Studied the intermediate pipes and sure enough, there is an angled female connection just ahead of transmission support on the passenger side. The 4 sp front feeds straight in as you said.

Driver side looks straight and likely will work. I think on the passenger side, I can cut the intermediate pipe back beyond the angle and splice in a straight piece.

So, there are options as always ! (Bubba is our friend! what would we do without BUBBA???)

Thanks for all of the info and help!

I bought the automatic exhaust for my automatic and I still had to modify it slightly to fit ... I had to trim down the length of the left side front pipe because it was pushing the entire exhaust out too far in the rear for the muffler hangers to fit properly. Bottom line, I'm sure you can make it work.
