I am doing a frame off restoration of a '73 conv. I am installing the rear suspension and I came across two plates that I can't figure out where they go.
I had them taped to the rear spring mount plate so I assume they are associated with the rear spring mount. They are about 1/8" thick, by 1.81" wide, by about 6" long. The ends have a slight curve. Do they go on the sides of the spring between the spring mount bolts? My assembly manual does not show these plates.
Hi Jim,
Your thought is correct.
I believe the width of the spring's leaves was decreased and the plates fill the gaps at the mounting bracket and bolts.

Alan
