I bought a 76 last fall and got it back on the road a month later. I found that it has a Chrysler ignition key. the column looks original and the key is worn about the same as the door key. the car is pretty much all original and was garaged since 1991 when the owner died. any ideas why it would have a Chrysler ignition key? Thanks, Donny
Hi D,
I guess a previous owner needed to have a new key made and who ever made it didn't have the proper GM keyway, but found the Chrysler key blank could be cut to fit the lock.
Or, if the lock cylinder needed to be replaced perhaps a Chrysler cylinder works.
?
