Help-distributor has foot switch inline with power lead
Can anyone tell me why the PO would put a foot switch that looks like a high beam switch on the floor and wire it to the power lead on the distributor ?!?!?!
Seen here the PO did this...why ?? I'm going to get it back to norm but I'd really like to understand this one lol
Not such a good idea if you get in a critical situation on the road and you accidently hit the "kill" switch.
We used to put a simple toggle switch in the 'hot' line to the dizzy and stick it up under the dash somewhere. Car wouldn't start until you flipped the switch. Sorry, I'm not a fan of putting the switch on the floor...but it would certainly work.
As an alternative explanation to a kill switch..., driver likes to "blow people away" with big backfires.
In the old days it was common practice while driving to shut off the ignition and let the raw fumes build up then turn it back on to a nice big loud backfire.
My older brother used to do it when we were teens.
