Default Paint Vs Emblems

Seriously considering removing the crossed flag emblems from the car and getting them painted on. What do you think?

I'm just curious of why? Yeah, it is harder to wax around them, but that is where the word "detailing" came from. I waxed my baby today and there was some wax around the crossflags all over it. I like them on there as they add dimension. Either have them on, or not at all. It is your car, do what you want, but beware, there will always be someone that doesn't like what you do and another that just flat out is discusted with what you did. They are called purists. I do care either way. Just make it cool :) Pass them ideas of how you want them to look onto us. You can make them be cool. Maybe little flame jobs come off of each one or something.

Remove all emblems, plug the holes and paint. Everybody knows it a Corvette and the emblems just interfer witht the good looks of the car.

Your choice of course, but I think if I was going to get rid of the real emblems, I'd just plug the holes up and leave it emblem-less.

When I bought mine one of the previous owners had removed the emblems, I did not care for that so I replaced them all and now with the body filler in the way I cannot get them flush without a repaint.

Future owners of your Vette will appreciate it if you keep it stock :D

STW!

It has nothing to do with being a "purist". It has to do with keeping the car original. So much of what's rolling around on four wheels these days....has been smoothed off...filled in... rounded off and polished down.
Take a look at what's sitting at the dealers now. A lot of round, aerodynamic boring looking plastic junk. Keep the emblems, they keep a character in automobiles that's rapidly disappearing.

If you're going custom (side pipes, painted flames and all that), paint's okay. If you choosing the restoration route, you need emblems. 'Nuff said! :boxing

That's part of it. the '82 emblem is different from every other year, nad to be honest, I feel "left out", yet to me, replacing the emblems with earlier emblems isn't a satisfactory answer either, at least, not with emblems. that's why i am toying with oversized paint. I AM going to lose the crossfire injection emblems on the side, and get some custom chrome made. I want to have the same Corvette script as on the mid years, without the stingray tag below.
