When people say they resored a vette, does that mean its been restored to original from every bolt (markings on top) or does it mean just rebuilt from the frame up, not necessarily every spec that is required to be original? Thanks for the info, everyone has been great on this forum!
For my car I use the term "restified" which to my way of thinking means to make like new again with modern or high performance parts and pieces that are as good as and better than original. With personal touches thrown in.
Restored always make me think of a numbers matching restoration the way the general built it.
Just an opinion
I'm with Bob - took the words out of my (future) mouth - "resurrected" -
but not restored to original. Mine should also be parted out - but I've
put so much of myself into it already - no turning back now.
"restoration" takes on different meanings, depending on who you are
talking to. One of my first posts stated that I wanted to fix my '75 up
to be a solid driver - not a "resto". People chimed in - to let me know that
it would - in fact - be a restoration (of sorts). I think rebuilt would
better describe my ongoing efforts. Eventually resurrected.
I'm still trying to figure out how I can get this big rock from in front of the cave entrance.
:smash:
Well, the people who are tuned into NCRS would probably get violently
ill if they saw half the stuff that I am doing.
Hey, at least my numbers match !! :yesnod:
Where in MA are you ? I'm sitting in Burlington during the weekdays.
