hey guys so my speedometer in my vette as taken a dump on me. I was removing my dash and when i was taking the gauges out of it a bunch on little paper type items fell out of the speedo. now when i bought the car the odometer on the speedo never read properly (some of the numbers were out of alignment) but none the less it still worked. but now the odometer numbers wont even stay in place. I took it to a local repair shop and they told me that it would be over 300 to have it repaired. Right now thats a little steep for me due to budget. However when i go to search for replacement speedos just to see a price on how much a "new" one would be the only kind i find go up to the 74 models. My question is there a place that sells speedos for 76's or would a 74 model speedo work just fine for me. I dont really know what the differnce between them is. A little info on my ride its a 1976 l82 with a 4 speed. i figured you guys would be the right place to ask since i can't find any info on the net. thanks for all the help and happy driving.
Thanks for the reply. I checked with ecklers on what this restoration service is all about when I first found out it was trashed. They explained to over the phone that 180 was for a basic resorption service that only included certain things. They told me that any replacement parts that were needed would be extra. Just kinda guessing on my part but I'd assume that I would need some parts and that would drive the cost up around what this local shop quoted me. If anyone has used this restoration service before if love to know more about it and your experience.
