I think the Buick gran nationals use a electric brake booster. Any one swap one of these in your C3? I have an LS engine that don't want to use any vacuum if I can figure out a swap. I already have the electric headlight conversion.
Do a search for "Hydroboost" Many people swap late model truck systems into their C3 corvette. The system uses power off the steering system to assist. Tons of info out there to piece together your own system or you can buy a kit.
I have not done it yet but its certainly on my wish list.
I installed a "Hydratech" hydraboost system in a 1963 with a new style LS7 in it and it GREATLY helped in the baking for the car. Night and Day difference and I will be installing another system in his 1967 also with another serious power plant in it also.
I read somewhere that some of the road sofa cadillacs/lincolns/etc have a vacuum pump for their brake boosters. I'd love to get my hands on one and connect it to my OEM booster.
I would imagine if they came stock on some cars, rockauto or your local brick and morter parts shop would carry them.
http://corvettec3.ca/hydro.htm Good read. I have already converted to the borgeson power steering. I am also cheap and looking for a junk yard solution.

I pulled a hydroboost booster off an Astro Van and made a mounting plate. Search the web, there is a company that makes a nice billet mounting plate, but I wanted mine to be less obvious. You will(at least I did) have to shorten the actuator rod. I also had to switch the pin location from manual brake to the power brake location. I used a 78 Corvette m/c and it stops like a scalded ape. All the brake lines just went back in place like the old manual master cylinder.
Grab the power steering lines too if you pull it yourself. You can have a local hydraulic hose shop make the correct length hoses out of your ends you pull. Speed shop could also help w/ screw on DIY ends.
