Lars rebuilt/set up the q-jet on my L46 (sold in 2008) along with the points-style distributor. Tuned it perfectly.

Why are you looking for a new carb?

Don't go too big! I was happy with a 650 Holley but it did get a little tapped out at the high end. Still I liked it better than the 750 I had on there. I think 700 would have been about right. I now have a 750 ultra which I like a lot but it is on a different motor.

650 is plenty big for a 350. Unless you are running at 6000 RPM all the time of the roundy round, stay away from the 750 CFM

I personally like the Holley 6210 spreadbore replacement for the Q-jet, as its small primary help low speed response, but double pump and large secondaries work well during a foot stomp on the throttle.

A different carb will not give you more power. Tune what you've got.

Buy this book;
How to Rebuild and Modify Rochester Quadrajet Carburetors (S-a Design): Cliff Ruggles: 9781932494181: Amazon.com: Books How to Rebuild and Modify Rochester Quadrajet Carburetors (S-a Design): Cliff Ruggles: 9781932494181: Amazon.com: Books

Learn and follow what it says. You will not be disapointed.
The q-jet is capable of 750 CFM. Your 350 can only use maybe 650 CFM if it were a real screamer.

Q-Jets are usually 750 / 795 cfm. If you cammed the motor bored it and now want to change or do carb work , stick with the OEM rated sizes. Forget on line calculators or advice. Facts are facts 750/795 for a sbc 350.

I have a 350 felt dead at 6k , friends said its valve float. Put 1000cfm EZ EFI on and it will pull with no loss of power till it blows up.I had to change governor weights to make sure it shifts at 6300 cause it was pulling right to 7k .

So even though it may run with a 650 , your gonna leave something on the table if and when you do punch it and ask her to give it all up.

And if she is gonna give it up what man don't want her to give it all up .....

Installed a demon 630 cfm on a Chrysler 400 and it really woke that motor up! I swore I would never buy a Demon again but this new/old design of the thermoquad really works well for the money IMO.

You can't get more horsepower from a "bigger" carb, when the one you have is already "bigger" than you need. Do you have more than 425 hp? If not, your Q-Jet has all the flow you will need.

But, throw your money away, if you want.....

If you still have the original, and unmolested, carb, just buy a good brand of rebuild kit, a new Nitrofil or brass float, a replacement for the fuel filter, and rebuild/set it up in a day.
