Default A tip for making custom plug wires

Fist....a pic. New corrected dist. cap any Taylor 8mm universal cut to length wires.

The hardest part of this is getting the darn boots to slide on the wires.
I tried EVERYTHING? WD-40, lithium grease, etc. After I totally struggled through 4 wires, DISH SOAP was the ticket

After that, it was EASY! !!!

Also, you will need a crimping tool. Don't try to cheap out and use pliers. Get the correct tool and you'll get professional results.

Looks pretty good huh ?

I used a silicone spray lubricant. I sprayed the inside of the boot and the wire and it slipped right through.

Dishsoap works also.

Nice job!

That really looks great, very tidy for sure. Put one of those caps on mine last week, went with the ole zip-tie method for the wiring. What a difference.

Looks really great with the corrected cap. Does someone make that for a standard non-HEI cap?

Nice valve covers too.

I dont think they make them for points ignition.
I could be wrong, but I've never seen them.

I just made a set of 8mm wires using spit to push the wire through the boot and cheap $19 wire crimpers with great results. Focus and understand what you are doing in the process and it will go well for you. Be sure you have the boot on before crimping the terminal end. A little more spit and the terminal end will pull back into the boot. Most parts suppliers have different color wire separators on their shelf.
