Probably not many left. I remember a lot of people removing them after getting a lot of techs that did not want to do proper research and procedures to fix. So between that and age probably not many left, let alone those that dyno them as well.
The CFI has a dyno chart that looks like a Diesel engine! I'm not complaining
All torque from 2000-4000 rpm and then it falls on it's face
Yeah, I know what ya mean. I've never owned or even driven a crossfire injection car before, I really like the torque. So I want to retain the CFI as much as possible. Maybe I'll have the fastest CFI in Texas.
WOW, I never hear so many complaints on the CFI as I do here
There is not a problem with this induction system, you just have to have it set-up properly to really get the most out of the system. My 82 has been my "dd" for 25 months and 45,000 additional miles. It runs extremely well, feels much more than the 200 HP number, that is for sure. Maybe its because the PO had the system set-up by an old school mechanic who knew what he was doing and understood the CFI system, it has been fine ever since. In fact another Corvette owner drove my 82 and said, "this is not 200 HP, it feels like so much more". My 82 is strong off the line, and the top end is quite amazing for 200 HP.... So don't be down on the system, it really can run quite well, and I know first hand.... and it is "stock". So go out and enjoy your 82, I know I am..........Tom

I have an 84 vette crossfire that is running 12.0 even. I expect to hit 11.5 when I change out stock converter to yank ss 3600. It move and heads scratch at the track.

Some guys think they gotta spend a 100k on a drag car, trailer, and all to have fun at the track. Having to push a 100k car around the track with 4 other guys doesn't sound that much fun to me at all. I think it's more fun to DRIVE TO THE TRACK a meek looking '84 crossfire Vette (or any other "sleeper" car) that looks slow and then blow everything at the track away. That is a great time, doesn't cost near that much either.

I agree. Too many people get hung up on peak HP numbers, when really for a street car its more fun to have a car with a strong low and mid range. It may not impress on the dyno, but it's fun to drive. And at the end of the day that is what we really want (or at least what I want) out of a performance car.
I just rebuilt the CFI motor in my 82. I only have just over 200 miles on it, so still in breakin at the moment. You can find the thread here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...e-rebuild.html. Parts list is there along with a lot of pictures.
The motor runs strong, great low and mid range torque. I'll know more about the higher rpm range in a few more weeks as I finish breaking it in. I may dyno it next summer, but I may wait until later, I'm thinking of transmissions and differentials now. It will get dyno'd at some point, just not sure when.
