'72 A/C upper console question
The metal plate on the upper console that houses the wiper switch and two air director vents.
What color are the five screws supposed to be that fasten it in place? black, or chrome?
The two lower screw holes, the ones in the recesses, there is nothing for them to screw into, not sure if at one time they were supposed to screw into the plastic A/C duct behind the console plate, or not; the duct is firmly fixed in place. Not sure if someone hacked something off the A/C duct there where the screws may have attached
I was thinking about getting two machine screws, and two trim washers,and two nuts and just installing them to fill the holes. Would these be black or chrome?
On the main upper console frame, the four screws that hold the console to the dash pad,and passenger pocket pad, are those screws black, or chrome?

They all have black heads. The lower two, have larger heads, and they do screw into a metal tab on the bottom of the opening in the duct that feeds the outlets just above them.

The three screws that that go up, 1 is larger and goes into the upper dashpad - I think this might be the same type of screw as the door sill. The other two are very small. They are the same type of head as the longer screw, but are only about 1/2 inch long - they may be identical to the ones holding the shift plate to the console.
I would recommend that you by an interior screw kit, they are very cheap, and you can replace screws with the proper type as you work on things.

Thats them.
I guess I will fake those as someone hacked up my AC duct,and I am not taking the dash apart again to replace it. I stuffed some foam between the duct and the firewall so it won't rattle.
