Default '72, stroage compartment latch question

the three escutcheons that surround the release latch button behind the seats.

Are those interior color, or black, or something else? mine are rusty from a rear window leak (now fixed), so no color is left.

The retaining U brackets on the underside that hold the release latches, what color are those? natural steel, black, something else?

Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug,
The U shaped bracket that holds the push button locks in place were originally manganese phosphate plated.
If you're not doing the plating a dark gray paint will be close.
Eastwood has a specific paint that mimics the manganese phosphate. You can use it other places too, like the hood latches.
Regards,
Alan
