hello,
can i use any type of antifreeze for a 1971. i was thinking about using that dog friendly stuff, will that work? also how much does the car need? thank you
A 50/50 mix of glycol-based antifreeze and distilled water is what you want. Not sure what you mean by 'dog-friendly', unless you want to feed the excess to Fido???? I would not put DexCool in your engine, as it was intended for use in aluminum engine blocks/systems.

thanks, its supposed to be better for environment and not as dangerous for animals, its made with propylene and not ethylene
I use Dex-Cool in all my cars because I get it free at work. I never have any problems with it. Not all cars that came with it stock used aluminum blocks, in fact I would say a good majority of them don't.
