The owner's manual and the jacking instructions on the jack storage compartment door show the proper jacking points. You can use those for jack stand placement.
I only commented on issues due to not correctly supporting the car...I do not know if this will help. Just make sure to TAKE THE TIME to get it RIGHT...or you can have a problem.

I would not for any extended length of time...over an hour...if that....and that is for changing a tire....which does not take long.
And if I do use a jack stand under the frame...and NOT the suspension (as mentioned)...because I am re-assembling the suspension...I use my floor jack and 2 jack stands...and the floor jack is used to raise up the sagging body/frame so not all of the weight is resting on the stands...the jacking configuration is triangulated...so to speak. Becasue I would have to be the one to fix a mess-up....I always make sure the frame is NOT allowed so sag down due to a jack stand is now a fulcrum.
People can do what you want...but let me tell you...due to these cars are getting older every year...and some more metal fatigue and issues will occur...what worked in the past may not be the way to do it today. Because I have ( as mentioned in other posts) have repaired frames on older Corvettes due to improper supporting of them over a few days.
