I have a 1972 C3 I am in the process of restoring. Project is 99 percent done. My headlights will open and close fine with the bypass switch, but will not funtion with the headlight switch. My first thought was to replace the "Shangai Suprise" new headlight switch with another one. Still have same issue.

Any suggestions??
Do you have the vacuum lines in the correct location on the headlight switch? It seems to me there was conflicting diagrams on some of the kits or AIM for the headlight vacuum lines.

First place I would look. Most vacuum diagrams out there have the two hoses at the headlight switch reversed. Rather than go that route, just remember this. The vacuum source (from manifold) ALWAYS goes to the port closest to the pull ****. If that doesn't work, there are ways to check the switch vacuum without pulling it out. Let us know.....

I believe that holds true here as well. The blue line should be the one closest to the firewall and run to the over-ride pull down switch
Another junk headlight switch. Spoke with the vendor and he told me they were having a 30% defect rate on these switches. Gotta love the Chinese!! Guess you should buy three at a time!!!

I had the same issue, but was able to disassemble/reassemble the vacuum switch part of the headlight switch and got it working. Pretty poor design.
