Default Is it safe to drive a few blocks with leaking power steering fluid?ring

The power steering was leaking a bit and was supposed to be fixed a couple of weeks ago. Today, it started leaking a lot, and the steering got really noisy (luckily, just as I was parking in my car port). My question is: can I drive the car about 6 blocks to my local garage? I can add more power steering fluid, but it's likely just to leak out.

You could take the ps belt off to avoid ruining your ps pump if it really won't hold any ps fluid. It will drive like a non power steering car. Wont hurt a thing.

I believe there are seven different parts to the PS system. After replacing those, most C3 owners then go to Walmart and buy a 2' X 4' drip pan for $12 and slide it under. Job done, have to live with it.
I recall seeing a drawing of the PS pump titled "Potential PS Pump Leaks" that showed "O" rings that must be installed under the pump studs that go to the pump bracket. Otherwise the reservoir could seep past the studs on some units. I never investigated my rebuilt pump. drip-drip-drip H-m-m-m-m-m-m-
