picked up a new vac advance distributor, cross your fingers this does the trick, I will let you all know. thanks for the idea, the distributor itself never crossed my mind when trying to figure out what was goin on

Another vote for replacing the distributor with a vacuum advance model as the CCC distributor and 7 pin module is not giving full advance so you are not getting full performance out of the engine.
But also check the float level, needle valve and seat in the Holley as it only takes a spec of dirt to mess it up....been there before!

replaced the distributor, with a vac adavance one, cleaned carb and took her out for a good 200 mile run today and she worked perfect. thanks everyone for the advice so far so good
