odd electrical find in a '77

Found this under the carpet, behind the driver's seat today:

Only Marking Is BEAU 3315?

Any idea what the heck this harness is?

That car must have been the original "Back to the Future" car...before they ditched it for a DeLorean. That socket is where Doc Brown plugged in the Flux Capacitor.

Great--I'll go back to october, and NOT buy the car!! LOL

I started to trace a couple of the wires, and it seems like they are all "tapped" into different circuits...

I'll dig a bit more over the last couple days, But I am thinking this might have been assembled by a PO for a tow hitch (although there is no physical evidence of a tow hitch having been installed)?

Definitely does not appear stock, so I may trace each wire and just "undo" the installation of it...that is, if it does not appear to be "integrated."

Maybe that car was the towee not the tower. Behind an RV or something?
