Borgeson vs Steeroids
I finally got to drive the other car I have been working on. Now I run the Steeroids on my 72 but I also installed the Borgeson on a 79 along with a full VB suspension. The new suspension on the 79 is a huge improvement. I do have to say I am very impressed with the Borgeson unit. Very quick steering response. I don't think you will go wrong with either system but the Borgeson has me thinking. I like the simplicity of the Borgeson unit.

The crazy joint angles "steered" me toward the Borgeson on mine! I have had a number of people why I didn't do a Rack after seeing the box on my car. I'm very happy with the Borgeson box and how it steers! Haven't set the speedo yet but the car was running wide open yesterday in 3rd gear with the 3.08 to do some tuning on the LS3, so figure 130+, and the steering was perfect. Getting on the brakes hard was another story though.... Can't wait to get the rear suspension done on this thing!

Solid LT1 I take issue with you using the terms "flimsy" and "scary" when you don't really know what you are taking about. You don't have any direct knowledge of the engineering behind our products nor do you have the extensive service experience we have. After more than a decade and over a million driving miles (including many race cars) Steeroids has proven to be a durable product. Steeroids is the only product that addresses bumpsteer, it is the lightest weight and it lowers the center of gravity. All very important performance considerations.
We appreciate Gordonm's candor and comments. Especially because he has direct experience with both products. That's just good information for everyone.

I would like to know more technical details about Danny Popp's Car. Especially what sway bars he is running. What springs and spring rates. And what steering. Pop hot rod, car craft, etc. should include an under chassis shot under the lift with every car featured.

There's quite a bit of info there, though. Any competitive car like his is going to churn through parts combinations though, so who knows where it's at now.

Can someone please post a picture of under the car in the oil pan area with the Borgeson unit. I think I understand that much of the "stuff" under the car is eliminated.

I could, but I don't have an oil pan right now. Your car would end up looking like a manual steering car, with a manual steering drag link rather than the power steering control valve. The steering ram would be removed as well.

Just swap the Pitman arm to the drag link, run the 2 lines between the PS pump and the Borg. box, and you're done. The lines don't run along the linkage anymore, they run up out of the way. Much cleaner.
