Tech tip: High quality affordable plug wires for BB
I was getting fed up with Accell junk wires that kept burning up on my '71 454. I couldn't get a set for a 71 454 as I have HEI and the terminals are different. The accell kits were universal, meaning I had to cut and terminate myself, just to have #3 arc to the header again after a few weeks.
I got a tip to check out Borg Warner Select wires @ pep boys. What I did was ask for a set for a 91 Chevy 2500 Pickup w/ 454. This got me a set that fit great. The lengths all worked, terminals were HEI and they had straight boots. The kicker is they are spiral core and made at the same plant that does the wires for most aftermarket high $$ companies. The boots are much better quality than anything I've seen from accell (doesn't say much, I know). I paid $45 for them and got a lifetime warranty.
