This 'neck' wants that 'bird', how much you want for it? :jester That is one of my dream cars. I guess 67 was a great year for Birds, Camaros and vettes. Very  being my birthyear.
I've been asked "How much did you pay for it" MANY times. It's always people who I have never even seen before. For whatever reason, my typical response is usually that these old cars are cheap as dirt and easy to work on. You should get one! If they ask for $ specifics again, I shoot them a really low number!
actually what i hate more than that is yhe guy that says something like ...
"it must be nice to be able to afford to buy a vette...you must have money"
then he hops in his $35,000 truck!!
what a lot of people dont understand is that these C3's dont cost much at all...what costs is the upkeep to keep it nice and running good!
your forgettin that most people dont own only a vette, it means you have money for a regular car AND a vette, people need cars for bad weather
i had this ugly girl at work say the typical " Now we know who makes all the money." I wanted to tell her she paid more for her POS Neon, but then I figured screw it let her think tha way. :D

Hey Steve,
The wheels are Torque Thrus 2's, 17" x 8" with stock (4"0 back spacing. The tires are Kumho 255 17ZR's. I never lowered the car but it mighy be a little lower than stock. It came from the factory with a 427 and the F41 suspention, Now it's a aluminum head smsll block. But I wasb't the clod who removed the 427, Handles pretty tight though.
I get "light 'em up" a lot. "I know it can do it!" I smile but decline because SHE CAN'T. Maybe if I had the 15" tires on there I could, but right now I just can't. Plans call for serious tranny/possible rear-end work after I have the engine tuned. Its kind of embarrasing that I have as much power as I do now and I can't even chirp going into 2nd!
Thanks Robert, I am trying to decide between 16" or 17" Torque Thrust II's like yours. Some of the vettes with 17" on them look like there is too much space between the tire and fender, but yours looks awsome. That is the look that I am after.
I know what you mean. When I tell people I only paid 8k for my vette they seem suprised. But then I tell them I put another 8k into mods to get it where I want it. 16k? I could never sell my car for that much! It aint worth it really.
What I really hate is the guy who puts a for sale sign on his car. Then you ask him how much he wants for it. He gives you some rediculously high price and there is no way the car is worth that much. He doesnt want to sell it. He just wants to talk about it.
Hehe, I have a Pinto....let's see how much I could get for it. It's got 10 gallons of gas in it, so I suppose $15 should be my asking price, over 72 months that would be about 20 cents a month plus interest. But, gee if the buyer actually drives it then they would spend at least $100/month for gas since it just gets around 12mpg on a good day. After 72 months they will have spent $7,215.00. So, wouldn't it be better to just buy a vette and park it in front of the house and take a bus?
My dad still tells this story from when I was a little kid. He had a pretty nice '69 Camaro, and it was the envy of all the neighborhood teens. One of them came up in the driveway and asked, "Hey man, this Camaro is nice. Is it for sale?"
Dad says, "No, I just got it the way I like it, I intend to keep it for a while."
To which the kid says, "Cool. How much you want for it?"
It's even harder to turn down when it's a real offer. At the last show I was in a guy asked me what I wanted for the 74 and just to come up with an inflated price I said $15K if I was going to sell it. He said he would write a check for me right there if I changed my mind about selling it. That was a hard offer to turn down but when you have about 5 quarts of your blood and 15 years of your life in the car it's a little easier.
A little off topic maybe...but the one car of mine that has seen the most action was a 1986 Shelby Charger. Don't laugh, the seats fold all the way down flat!
:D
For me it was my Jeep Wrangler (YJ). Lots of room in them things, when you need it
